The following information is derived from Barry Bolton's New General Catalogue, a catalogue of the world's ants.

  • cubangensis. Camponotus mayri var. cubangensis Forel, 1901d: 309 (w.q.) ANGOLA. [Also described as new, but spelled kubangensis, by Forel, 1903e: 563.] Combination in C. (Orthonotomyrmex): Emery, 1925b: 125. Raised to species: Santschi, 1930b: 80. Current subspecies: nominal plus dofleini.
