This species is distributed from lowlands to lower mountainous regions and is relatively rare (Japanese Ant Image Database).

Identification

This species is easily separated from the other Japanese members of subgenus Myrmentoma by the abundant long hairs on its mesosoma and petiole (Japanese Ant Image Database).
