BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE

Division of Forest Protection 53 Nan Hai Rd Taipei, Taiwan Tel: 02 309-1846 CHAO Jung-Tai is Senior Scientist at Division of Forest Protection, Taiwan Forestry Research Institute (TFRI). Chao is also the curator of Insect Collection of TFRI and Adjunct Professor at the Department of Forestry and Resources Conservation, National Taiwan University. Dr. Chao received his Ph.D. from the Department of Entomology at the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia, USA in 1984. He had worked as Associate Research Scientist at the National Museum of Natural Sciences for one year before he joined the TFRI in 1986. Dr. Chao was an Academic visitor, Department of Zoology, at the University of Oxford,U.K. in 1990 and a Visiting Professor, Department of Entomology at the Oregon State University, U. S. A., in 1996. In 1997, Dr. Chao received a Distinguished Agriculture Fellow Award from the Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan, R.O.C. In 2008, he was awrded as one of the 10 Outstanding Agricultural Experts of the Year by the Kiwanis International in Taiwan
