The following key to Australian Turneria has been modified from Shattuck (1990[1], 2011[2]).

  • Propodeum low and lacking rounded protuberances; abundant long erect hairs present on the dorsal surfaces of the head and mesosoma => Turneria rosschinga
  • Propodeum high and with rounded protuberances; erect hairs on the dorsal surfaces of the head and mesosoma limited or absent => Turneria bidentata
