The following information is derived from Barry Bolton's Online Catalogue of the Ants of the World.
- rubiginosa. Formica rubiginosa Latreille, 1802c: 170 (q.) FRANCE. Combination in Lasius: Emery, 1925b: 230. [Bondroit, 1918: 25, suggests a possible correlation of this name with L. alienus, but rubiginosa is best regarded as unidentifiable to genus, incertae sedis in Lasius: Bolton, 1995b: 225.]
