Subspecies of salomonis: Forel, 1910a: 23 (in text). Raised to species: Karavaiev, 1927b: 107. Senior synonym of creticus Emery, 1908 (and hence also of its replacement name pseudoepixenus), biroianum: Legakis, 2011: 14.
  • biroi. Epixenus biroi Forel, 1910a: 21 (q.) CRETE. Combination in Monomorium: Brown & Wilson, 1957b: 244. [Junior secondary homonym of biroi Forel, 1907a: 19, above.] Replacement name: biroianum Bolton, 1995b: 260.
