Nothing is known about the biology of Monomorium punctipectore.
Zhou (2001) - Allied to Monomorium destructor (=Trichomyrmex destructor), but can be distinguished from the latter by its anterior clypeal border truncate, mesopluron and metapleuron densely reticulate, and postpetiole broader than petiole.

Holotype: TL 2.3, HL 0.62, HW 0.51, CI 82, SL 0.45, SI 88, PW 0.28, AL 0.62, ED 0.09.
Head rectangular, longer than broad, with straight sides and broadly shallowly concave occipital border. Mandible with 4 teeth. Anterior clypeal border truncate in the middle. Antennal scapes not reaching occipital border. Eyes situated in front of the midlength of the sides of head. Dorsum of pronotum and mesonotum convex, promesonotal suture venish; mesopropodeal suture deeply impressed; propodeum low, oblique backward, apex of the basal face convex laterally, concave in the middle; declivity truncate,, con: junction between them bluntly angular. Petiolar node high, with short peduncle, anterior face and posterior face oblique, roundly convex at tip; postpetiole rounded, slightly broader than petiole in dorsal view. Gaster longitudinally oval, anterior border straight.
Mandibles with fine longitudinal striations; head, promesonotum, petiole, postpetiole and gaster smooth and shining; mesopleuron and metapleuron densely reticulate; propodeum with fine transverse striations.
Erect hairs and pubescence sparse. Antennal scapes and hind tibia without erect hair.
Color yellowish brown, antennae and legs lighter, apical -2/3 of gaster dark brown.
