Subspecies of fodica: Emery, 1893e: 219. Revived status as species: Dalla Torre, 1893: 155; Wheeler, W.M. 1919e: 69. Subspecies of brunnea: Santschi, 1925c: 176 (in key). Revived status as species: Stärcke: 1938: xxxv. Senior synonym of dromedarius: Emery, 1893e: 219; Wheeler, W.M. 1919e: 69. Current subspecies: nominal plus gagatina, jacobsoni.
