    • Type-material: holotype worker, 20 syntype workers.
    • Type-locality: holotype Brazil: Rio de Janeiro, Itatiaia, km. 1, 17.iii.1926 (J.F. Zikán); paratypes with same data.
    • Type-depositories: IBVR (holotype); MZSP (paratypes).
    • Combination in Neivamyrmex: Borgmeier, 1953: 5.
    • Status as species: Borgmeier, 1955: 486 (redescription); Kempf, 1972a: 153; Watkins, 1976: 15 (in key); Bolton, 1995b: 288.
    • Distribution: Brazil.
