Nylanderia otome is found in grasslands and at forest margins (Japanese Ant Image Database).

Identification

In Japan, his species resembles Paratrechina longicornis and Nylanderia yambaru. It is easily distinguished from N. longicornis by its shorter antennal scapes and the 3 pairs of setae on its mesosomal dorsum, and from N. yambaru by its distinctive coloration.
