[First available use of Tetramorium caespitum subsp. punicum var. nitidissima Emery, 1925c: 190; unavailable name.] Subspecies of punicum: Dlussky & Zabelin, 1985: 232. Raised to species: Dlussky, Soyunov & Zabelin, 1990: 206; Radchenko, 1992b: 54.
