Biology

Harada (2011) found 15 ant species in 224 trees as part of an arboreal ant study in Joyama Park, Hioki City, Japan. Camponotus vitiosus was found foraging (n=21) and nesting (n=3). Crematogaster matsumurai foraged on some of the same trees as C. vitosus and in one case both species were found nesting in the same tree.

Karyotype
