The following information is derived from Barry Bolton's New General Catalogue, a catalogue of the world's ants.

  • persica. Myrmecocystus frigidus var. persica Emery, 1906d: 50, fig. 7 (w.) IRAN. Combination in Cataglyphis: Emery, 1925b: 264.

Taxonomic Notes

Pashaei Rad et al., (2018): Cataglyphis frigidus (André, 1881). Type location Syria, CASENT0102117 (probably a media worker). Cataglyphis persicus minor matches type. Prior Iran records in Paknia et al. (2008). The majors of Paknia ZMGU1419 (held by Brian Taylor) and Torabi 12 are identical, minors of both match the persicus type.
