Nomenclature

The following information is derived from Barry Bolton's New General Catalogue, a catalogue of the world's ants.

  • mosis. Crematogaster auberti var. mosis Forel, 1909c: 104.
    • [First available use of Crematogaster auberti subsp. jehovae var. mosis Forel, 1907b: 207 (w.q.) ISRAEL; unavailable (infrasubspecific) name.]
    • Subspecies of jehovae: Menozzi, 1933b: 61 (in key); Santschi, 1937e: 313 (in key); Bolton, 1995b: 158.
    • [Note: Collingwood & Agosti, 1996: 331, ascribe mosis to Emery, 1869a: 35, and raise it to species rank. There is no Emery entry at this reference, but Emery, 1869a: 135, describes laestrygon (again without mention of mosis); therefore the apparent attribution of mosis to Emery, and its elevation to species-rank, is ignored.]
    • Status as species: Collingwood, et al. 2011: 426.
