The following information is derived from Barry Bolton's New General Catalogue, a catalogue of the world's ants.

  • burmeisteri. Anomma burmeisteri Shuckard, 1840c: 326 (w.) SIERRA LEONE. Emery, 1895j: 710 (m.); Raignier & Boven, 1955: 93 (q.). Combination in Dorylus (Anomma): Emery, 1895j: 710. Junior synonym of nigricans: Emery, 1895j: 710; Emery, 1910b: 12. Revived from synonymy as subspecies of nigricans: Wasmann, 1904b: 671; Mayr, 1907b: 7; Santschi, 1910c: 352; Santschi, 1914b: 62. Raised to species: Stitz, 1916: 373; Santschi, 1921c: 115. Currently subspecies of nigricans: Wheeler, W.M. 1922a: 738; Santschi, 1937b: 96.

=Taxonomic Notes

Kronauer et al. (2007) treat this taxon as a full species rather than a subspecies.
