    • Type-material: holotype male, 1 paratype male, 2 paratype workers.
    • Type-locality: holotype (lacks data); paratypes Brazil: Pernambuco, Tapera, xi.1929 (D.B. Pickel).
    • Type-depository: MZSP.
    • Subspecies of vagans: Kempf, 1972a: 104; Bolton, 1995b: 185.
    • Distribution: Brazil.
