Identification

By the general shape of the body and propodeal spines E. groehni most resembles Eotemnothorax petiolatus, but differs from it by the bigger size (4 mm vs. 3.4 mm) and by the relatively longer petiolar peduncle (PL/PH 1.50 vs. 1.30). It differs from Eotemnothorax rectispinus and Eotemnothorax armatum by the more massive and curved propodeal spines and by the bigger size (4 mm vs. ≤ 3.1 mm).
