Identification

By the coarsely rugosed mesosoma combined with the short propodeal denticles E. odontos resembles Eotemnothorax rav and Eotemnothorax khomychi, but differs from the first species by the shape of frontal carinae: they are merging with the rugae that extend to the occipital margin, while frontal carinae curved outwards to merge with the rugae that surround the antennal sockets in E. rav. E. odontos differs from Eotemnothorax khomychi by the rugosed head dorsum vs. smooth dorsum with piligerous pits in the latter species.
