Summary
Recent surprise downpours in Austin, Texas, spurred a flurry of ant mating flights a few days later. This is Monomorium minimum. Note the mite on the back of the female, hitchhiking a ride to a potential new host colony. The female had to physically pry the male off her when they were done.
