  • foetens. Formica foetens Olivier, 1792: 503. Replacement name for foetida De Geer, 1773: 611. [Junior primary homonym of foetida Linnaeus, 1758: 582.] Unidentifiable to genus; incertae sedis in Formica: Bolton, 1995b: 195. [It is apparent that this taxon is properly referable to subfamily Myrmicinae.]
