Diagnosis
Within Indascia, this species only shares the presence of an appendix on vein R 4 + 5 with Indascia gigantica sp. n. From that species, Indascia spathulata differs by tergite 2 being more than twice as long as wide, and the basoflagellomere being 5 times as long as wide.
