Lasius pannonicus
Scientific classification
Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: Arthropoda
Class: Insecta
Order: Hymenoptera
Family: Formicidae
Subfamily: Formicinae
Tribe: Lasiini
Genus: Lasius
Species: L. pannonicus
Binomial name
Lasius pannonicus
Röszler, 1942

This taxon is considered to be unidentifiable and its identity is uncertain. The description of this ant, found in dense shady woodland near Budafok, Hungary, should refer to the subgenus Lasius s.str. but further conclusions are not possible. The whole text appears to be a mixture of fantasy and imprudent statements. I have never seen an ant combining the reported life-style, habitat selection and morphology (Seifert, 2020).
