  • niger. Meranoplus niger Donisthorpe, 1949b: 494 (q.m.) NEW GUINEA (Indonesia).
    • Type-material: 2 syntype queens, 1 syntype male.
    • Type-locality: 1 queen Indonesia: Irian Jaya (“Dutch New Guinea”), Maffin Bay, 12.vi.1944 (E.S. Ross), 1 queen, 1 male with same data but viii.1944.
    • [Note: Boudinot, 2014: 97, regards the single queen (12.vi.1944) as holotype, the queen + male (viii.1944) as paratypes, but there is no indication of such a nomination in the original description where “type and allotype” is used.]
    • Type-depositories: BMNH, CASC.
    • Status as species: Chapman & Capco, 1951: 113; Bolton, 1995b: 251; Boudinot, 2014: 97.
    • Distribution: Indonesia (Irian Jaya), Papua New Guinea.
