Nomenclature

The following information is derived from Barry Bolton's Online Catalogue of the Ants of the World.

  • fabricii. Myrmecia fabricii Ogata & Taylor, 1991: 1650, fig. 35 (w.) AUSTRALIA (Queensland).
    • Type-material: holotype worker, 24 paratype workers.
    • Type-locality: holotype Australia: Queensland, Eungella Nat. Park (21/149), 51 mi. W Mackay, 2000 ft, 17.xii.1972 (B.B. Lowery); paratypes: 20 workers with same data, 3 workers 6 km. SSE Eungella, 14.xii.1976 (R.W. Taylor & T.A. Weir), 1 worker Homevale (21/148) (R.J. Kohout & V.E. Davies).
    • Type-depositories: ANIC (holotype); ANIC, BMNH, MCZC, MHNG, QMBA (paratypes).
    • Status as species: Bolton, 1995b: 271.
    • Distribution: Australia.
