Diagnosis
This species is similar to and closely related to P. cucullatus and its immediate allies yet clearly characterized by its particular pubescence. The most obvious distinguishing characters of P. rawlinsi are the simple elytral pubescence, the very short, flattened setulae of the elytral pubescence (Fig. 10A), and the protruding pores situated far apart from each other on the vertex.
