    • Type-locality: worker Guinea: (Nimba) Camp IV, 1000 m., 2.vi.1942 (Lamotte); queen without locality data.
    • Type-depository: MNHN.
    • Combination in Pachycondyla: Brown, in Bolton, 1995b: 307;
    • combination in Mesoponera: Schmidt, C.A. & Shattuck, 2014: 111.
    • Status as species: Bolton, 1995b: 307.
    • Senior synonym of neonimba Özdikmen, 2010c: 996 (unnecessary replacement name; unpublished).
