[First available use of Myrmecocystus altisquamis r. foreli var. bucharica Forel, 1904b: 393; unavailable name.] Subspecies of altisquamis: Arnol'di, 1964: 1811; of foreli: Pisarski, 1967: 418. Raised to species: Radchenko, 1997c: 429; Radchenko, 1998: 506 (in key).
