Aphaenogaster oligocenica is one of 12 fossil Aphaenogaster species, and one of three known from Baltic amber (the others being Aphaenogaster mersa and Aphaenogaster sommerfeldti).
Identification
Distribution
This taxon was described from Baltic amber (Bartonian, Middle to Late Eocene) and is also known from Bitterfeld amber (Bartonian, Middle to Late Eocene) (Perkovsky, 2016).
